Swan 57, Lintu, is the last design for Nautor in Finland from the famous New York design office Sparkman & Stephens. Built in 1980, she is now a 'classic' and with her good sailing qualities and very good seagoing properties an ideal boat to cruise the oceans of the world.
The Swan 57 is a sturdy, well built cruising yacht. Hull construction is of solid glass fibre reinforced polyester laminate. Deck is of sandwich construction using glass fibre reinforced skin laminates with closed-cell foam core. Structural bulkheads are of marine grade plywood laminated to hull and deck. Keel is bolted to the hull and consists of lead with antimony. 49 boats were built during a production run that started in 1977 and ended in 1984. These are great offshore boats and are still sought by buyers.
Lintu has recently been totally upgraded. In 2012 she received a complete new engine, electronics, (radar, AIS) new electric systems, running rigging etc. Now she also has new Quantum carbon sails (2013) and a carbon gennaker pole (2013).
